Part 1 explores the first few steps the girls take in tasting fame. All their hard work towards débuting, all the years in training to become the nation's girl group finally paid off with ''Into The New World''. I decided to use voice overs from the girls to really bring out their feelings and thoughts, adding a more emotional impact on screen.
In the beginning when Tiffany talks about her deceased mother and how she left her with 8 sisters, I really wanted to emphasize that point. I felt that Tiffany truly never lost her mother as all her 8 different characteristics reside inside the other girls. Also, the reason why I chose those particular lines is because of the loss that she felt when her mother left and how she became whole again when she found her in 8 different sisters. This is very important in developing her strength to carry on in life, strong enough to début and become a national star.
During the performance of ''Into The New World'', a woman's voice is heard asking a younger Seohyun whether or not she had practised her homework. Seohyun replied with a yes, claiming that it was difficult because her throat hurt. She continued by saying that the pain went away after a day and she ate a lot of sore throat sweets to recover, giggling. I used this voice over because of how important it was in that if she had not worked so hard, practising even after she was in pain, she may not have even been standing on stage with the other girls. This voice over showed a personality that we're very familiar with now of Seohyun; she is known as the youngest but most mature and dedicated worker with the most optimistic of hearts, a role model to many. |

Part 2 explores how the girls fell into a state of melancholy after the Black Ocean incident and how they slowly recovered with time, healing little by little. The Black Ocean incident is something very important that happened to them which made them stronger mentally. The Black Ocean taught them that there are people in the world who simply will not like them no matter what; it is one of the realities of life and we all face it everyday.
During the girls' downfall, I implemented many sound effects of the ocean because I wanted to show how they were being drowned by these fandoms during the black ocean incident and how it was suffocating them, leaving a scar in their hearts. They all cope in their own ways to heal and the music (''Tree of Life'' by ''Park Ji Yoon''), I felt really complimented that process; the process of recovery. The voice of a SONE during this scene was used to tell the girls that despite everything bad that happened to them, it was never one of us, we would never betray them. I used my voice as the SONE, manipulating it in software to resemble a voice of both a young boy and a girl. I felt that the words said would not be as powerful if two different people said it and so I tried to find a balance between both sexes.
In part 2, adverts are slowly beginning to come in and I used this in a way which would resemble a commercial break on a regular TV show. I chose to include adverts because I wanted to show that the more successful Girls' Generation were becoming as entertainers, the more contracts they were getting from different advertising agencies due to their popularity. Advertising beauty products and food were also a big part in my choice in deciding which specific one I would include. Girls' Generation are known to be very beautiful young women who look very healthy and in good shape, and so I specifically included a beauty product to show how much of an influence they are becoming in their country. This is also the same reason why I included a food advert; people were being influenced in what they should eat by watching the girls themselves advertise a specific food on screen.
The last scene in the video shows the girls at peace, completely healed from their terrible experiences and stronger than ever, ready to tackle anything head on in the future. I chose clips of them cycling away and waving their hands as to tell the audience that they have said goodbye to the past and looking forward to the future. I implemented sounds of nature to display a sense of tranquillity. There is something so beautiful about the display of affection between the girls that it puts a tear in my eye as it reminds me of the human bonds I have with my own family and friends. |

We were
supposed to release part 3 last year however we fell into a busy schedule and
were unable to continue on releasing the rest of the parts. After a year and 3
months, we have come back with a teaser trailer for Part 9 of ''A History''.
The reason we are releasing part 9 is because it is the final part of the film
which ends with the ''Mr.Mr.'' era. We are closing and concluding the girls'
lives with this part and releasing it first as it is the hot topic right now.

I have never made a fan video before but I thought I may give it a try mixing a song that is far from Girls' Generation's style and see if great editing can fuse the two opposites together, creating quite an interesting music video for us fans.
I implemented a variety of sound effects to create or emphasize the sorrow filled atmosphere for each of the members. There are some sound effects that don't match the visuals on screen, but rather, I tried to use those sound effects to emphasize the lyrics of the song. No audio from the original sources were used, they are all added in the edit.
